Market Garden Assistant

Oaks and Sprouts is pleased to offer the position of Market Garden Assistant to launch our regenerative farm system into production in 2021. This position will help plant, tend, harvest, pack, and sell crops from 1-2 acres of mixed produce using organic and other environmentally responsible practices.

  • 1 position available June – October 2021 with potential to extend

  • $15/hour starting at 20 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Perform crop production duties including but not limited to soil prep, seeding, weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing of produce

  • Assist with sales of crops at farmers markets

  • Assist with social media and in-person client education and engagement

  • Maintain clean and safe facilities for staff and food production

Requirements

  • Experience growing vegetables, herbs, or other agricultural products

  • Experience with sales, client engagement, and point-of-sale software

  • Familiar with market garden, organic, and regenerative agriculture principles

  • The ability to proficiently operate a wide variety of computer applications and environmental management control systems that help farm and executive management evaluate operations performance.

  • Must be able to move at least 60 pounds

  • Willing to spend significant time on your feet/moving and in adverse weather conditions

  • Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to motivate house employees to fulfill their jobs to the best of their ability

  • Required – drivers license

  • Language(s): read and speak English
